Books

My first book, Beginning Piano for Adults, was published in 2003. It is, in point of fact, a book about how to play the piano for adults who are new to the instrument. Click on it to order it from Amazon.

Music

  • Smoke(m4a), one of my tunes, featuring me on guitar and vocals. This tune was recorded with my Taylor 710 (my first professional instrument) before it got stolen. Please note that I have never ever in the history of this website described myself as a singer. The tune is from a CD called Tea Leaves I recorded in 1997. If you think "Smoke" is the coolest tune ever and you want to hear more, the whole CD is on iTunes. "Smoke" is the only solo acoustic tune. The rest of the CD is hippie rock. Just search for "Karl Mueller."
  • Train(m4a), another one of mine, as performed by Mr. B's Boogie Band, arranged by my pal Noah and featuring Noah on keyboard and my pal Mandy on guitar. Both Noah and Mandy are great musicians and great people. Their sites are on my links page.
  • Lookin' For You(mp3), featuring me on bluesy lead guitar, recorded with the now defunct Satellite Sky.
  • Living Room(mp3), another one from Satellite Sky, featuring me on mandolin.
  • D Minor Prelude Scored for Rubber Duckies(mp3). Nigel Tufnel (of Spinal Tap fame) called d minor the saddest of all keys. In Mozart's operas, the characters often sing in d minor when they are grouchy. Beethoven's 9th Symphony tells the story of his escape from the pain and agony of the earthly realm of d minor to the heavenly bliss of D Major. I've always had a fondness for d minor. That is why it brings me great joy, thanks to that technological breakthrough called MIDI, to perform for you Bach's Prelude Number 6 from Book I of The Well-Tempered Clavier with the gravity and weight it deserves.
